The purpose of this website is to help teachers “enchant” students as they embark in the linguistic journey of acquiring a second language.

Language learning should be made appealing and fun for students in order for them to develop both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for acquiring the target language. By incorporating enjoyable activities, educators can lower students’ affective filter as it relates to acquiring and learning a second language.

This website draws from research based ESL acquisition theories, effective teaching methodologies, and my personal experience as former ESL student and teacher. 

Why implement the theory of multiple intelligences and cross-curriculum pedagogy in ESL classrooms?

The lesson plans and activities shared on this website incorporate Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory and cross-curricular pedagogy to ensure that all students’ individual and collective needs are met.  It is essential for students to be exposed to a variety of subjects while acquiring the English language in order to provide them with an education that will allow them to reach their highest academic potential. By teaching language with content you are teaching the language in a natural environment, which is an effective strategy since the brain acquires language as a whole.
